With few exceptions, Archie Comics has chosen to portray their Archies Rock group as a mostly unheralded, modestly-talented teenage garage band. Bouncing from one low-profile, low-paid gig to another, their prospects for the future look anything but bright! Here at Pop Culture Cantina, we take a different approach to the group. To us, The Archies are adults, and Pop superstars to boot! That's how we've chosen to portray them in our online narratives. In terms of fame, they are on the same level as Fleetwood Mac, a band on whom they were partially based; and long after The Archies have broken up - even after all the members are deceased - they will maintain a presence in the public consciousness, and on the charts. In this linking feature, we amend their discography with releases that extend well into the 22nd century. The pertinent record labels are Atlantic, Republic (later acquired by the Vox corporation) and Fuentes (which will also be taken over, but by a much bigger company than Vox). The "Archie After Archie" discography begins in 2034, the year after Riverdale's Royal Family of Rock officially disbands.

The Push Push will be a popular European dance step. A medley of "Start The Party Again", "The Sh'Down Down Song", "Ramrod" and "You Can Cry On My Shoulder" will be a smash hit in France, Canada and other French-speaking markets. The first two songs feature in a 2034 indie film called Philadelphia Freedom and hail from the soundtrack album. The EP is a Europe-only release, but heavily imported worldwide.
Bree Spellman produces both the soundtrack and the club single. Two years later, she'll successfully lobby the Republic label to market a limited-edition Archies box set in France. Between 2002 and 2014, French Archies releases differed in content and appearance from their North American counterparts; some were only marketed in francophone Africa, contributing to their much-coveted status among collectors.
COLLECTION FRANÇAISE DES ARCHIES will bring together all eight French LP pressings plus Jughead's 2011 "solo" record TOUT CE QU'ILS DIRENT DO MOI and 2031's DISQUE D'OR, the group's first truly successful album in France. This album was The Archies' first attempt at recording Soul music. It was also the group's first self-funded recording; presented to Don Kirshner, head of their record label at the time, the still-untitled album was rejected. Archie Records acquired the master in 2005 and Veronica belatedly gave it a name. After extensive remixing, a release was scheduled for 2015; but new owner Jason Blossom cancelled it when he decided to shutter the Archie label. Alexandra Cabot, his successor at Republic USA will question the album's commercial appeal; she won't commit to putting it out. Still, Archie never gives up trying to get ARCHIE'S CHICANO OLDIES on the market! The intervention of Donna Dante, daughter of Las Vegas icon Ron Dante finally makes it happen. Her group, The New Archies, will serve as executive producers on the project. OLDIES is destined to be 2048's top catalog album as well as an enduring fan favorite.

The shocking accidental destruction of the master tape delays their reissue project by a year, but with behind-the-scenes help from Sabrina and The New Archies, SOUL MOTION finally hits the streets to great acclaim and sales success. Archie's youngest son, Elijah Baumgartner Andrews will revive Tiger's Milk Records for an important series of Archies reissues in the 2130s.

In the year 2059, the Vox conglomerate absorbs Republic USA and its Archie Records catalog. Vox's chief executive Brosnan Yovahnee is a descendant of legendary singer/songwriter Laura Nyro. What clinches the deal for him is the opportunity to release on LP, for the first time, The Archies' televised 2032 tribute to Nyro. The show will have been available on CD/DVD but never on vinyl. However, Vox's release of the soundtrack results in a lawsuit from its rightful owner: Discos Fuentes! A settlement agreement allows Vox to license the album while Fuentes markets one of the tracks on the EP JUST FOR TONIGHT. Going forward, the two companies establish a "sister label" relationship, resulting in numerous joint marketing efforts.

Pressed on collectible 10-inch red vinyl, this excellent live EP will become a sizable hit in North America and an even bigger one in the Philippines. Its three selections hail from a trio of concerts: "Let Me Bring You Up" was captured at a 2031 charity event in New Jersey. "He's A Runner/Goodbye Joe" is taken from the 2032 FURY IN MY SOUL TV special. "Just For Tonight" was the last song performed at The Archies' final concert appearance in Asia. Discos Fuentes will commission special mixes from Vox audio producer Sonny Yin-Bao. Studio versions of "Let Me Bring You Up" and "Just For Tonight" exist, and back in 2035 the former song was pressed up as an Australian single (see above). Bootlegs of that pressing are plentiful, but original copies will become highly collectible.

Archie-f*cking-MANIA is a phenomenon of the 2070s, but its strongest expression in Asia will be during the 2080s and '90s. Vox's Japanese branch will market several best-selling Archies reissues, some on the legendary Philles Records imprint; it's among several vintage label catalogs that Vox CEO Brosnan Yovahnee will acquire. The most significant of these albums is actually not a reissue but a fabled unreleased Archies LP dating back to 2005! The songs from HEAVEN HELP THE NON-BELIEVER are familiar to Colombian telenovela fans; written by Toni Wine and sung in Spanish, they were the sensation of a classic soap opera called "La Diosa Del Aire" in which The Archies appeared. In 2045, radically remixed dance versions will briefly surface on an ill-conceived download compilation. Archies fans will soundly reject them! It won't be until 2098 that they'll hear what was intended to be the band's first ballad album, faithfully sequenced, pristinely mastered and properly pressed on virgin vinyl. Music critics will rave over its traditional Country music flavor, stellar performances and superior audio quality (long rumored to be sub-standard). HEAVEN HELP THE NON-BELIEVER will be the top catalog album in Asia that year as well as Vox's last major Archies release prior to its acquisition by The Walt Disney Company.

"Billy Sunshine" was intended as a 2005 Archies Fan Club Records release; long believed lost, it's retrieved from the music archives of producer Rod Mack. These vinyl pressings of hit songs released by The Archies in the mid-2130s will be so criminally rare, the only known copies are in the possession of Elijah Baumgartner Andrews. His Tiger's Milk indie label is distributed by The Walt Disney Company, which explains why these promo singles will carry the Disneyland label. This double A-side will be The Archies' final Top Ten hit. In 2012, Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers will call Jughead's attention to "Who Am I?" Medley wrote this obscure power ballad in 1966; it was recorded by several artists but never successfully. Chuck Clayton will write a new vocal arrangement for the song in 2028. Tracking happens in 2032, but the single will be held back for over a century! Veronica and Betty's duet cover of the Joni Mitchell classic "I'm A Radio" is the AI-generated reconstruction of a lost Archies master recorded
in Jerusalem in 2014. Were she still alive, Toni Topaz would be astounded to hear herself sing lead vocals; she was not present at the tracking session!
